Alhamdulillah. On the 29th June, I was invited again (I was also invited last year) to SAMT Tengku Ampuan Jemaah, Shah Alam, to share a few tips on how to write better essays and score better marks, with the SPM candidates there. The English Panel Head, who is Puan Nur Diana, was my course mate in Maktab Perguruan Temenggung Ibrahim, Johor Bahru (1993-1995). It was nice to meet her again after so many years. Alhamdulillah. I went to Al Amin Islamic School in Bandar Baru Bangi twice, on 5th June and 20th July, to share some writing secrets with the PMR students there. I wish that the students benefited from the sharing, and will score an A in their PMR. InsyaaAllah. Good luck girls! You can do it guys!

Good writing skill is not a natural gift. You have to learn to write well. The following are some tips on how an ESL learner can become a better writer. Read widely . By reading a lot, you will store your mind with facts, thoughts, illustrations and general information. You need all these for the content of your writing. Observe life around you . Then, practise writing short descriptions of what you see in everyday life.  Keep practicing . Practice makes perfect, so you need to write regularly. As you write more, your writing skills will get better. Always revise your work . Always allow time to revise your work and rewrite it. You may as well share your work with your friends or your teachers to get feedback and suggestions.
