Simple Present Tense

The simple present tense is used to show an action carried out in the present time.
Examples:
I walk to school.
He walks to school.

The simple present tense is used to show a regular or habitual action. It is usually used with adverbs like ‘often’, ‘everyday’, ‘sometimes’ and ‘always’.
Examples:
I sometimes go to the library.
Tony goes to the library everyday.

We also use the simple present tense to show a general truth. Examples:
The sun rises in the east.
Most children like chocolate.
