EMPOWERING STUDENTS

When students are empowered they learn more, and they learn better. The question is; how to help learners who lack confidence in themselves, and want learning to be pleasant and painless? Maybe we should take the following into consideration in our classrooms. Always give accurate descriptions of those actions that learners must take in order to succeed. Always make classroom tasks clear and explain what steps to take and in what order. Always make sure that the work students do is meaningful and important.  Always talk about how beliefs affect behaviour. Students’ belief about what they can and cannot learn will powerfully influence what they do and do not learn. Empowered learners do better in class and in life.
